Hey Christian.
From what I've read, being able to mirror video is possible depending on the OS and the player. I assume it's a function of whether or not overlay is used. Based on my initial attempt I'm guessing the Media Player Classic (my preferred player) is a no-go. What I'm needing to know is which players will work. I assume MMC is also out. I'm using XP so I figure that's not a problem.
Also, I'm using two cards (both Nvidia). Is mirroring performance a function of the performance of one of the cards? I'm wanting to mirror to a cheap 5200 PCI card. The primary is pretty quick. If it actually mattered, I could upgrade to a faster card in the second PCI-E slot.
Gracias

You should test this, which players will work also depends on the video codecs used, for example some DVD/MPEG2 codecs require video overlays, others don't.
Mirroring performance is affected by the 2D performance of the video card, you should be fine with any recent video card.
