I'm interested in a new system(dell xps420) or having one built by avadirect.com, and i'm curious if it would matter if I run two cards with one pci-e and the other pci. This set up would be for 2-d work, basically trading, I know the speed of pci-e is much greater than pci but does it matter for the type of work i'll be doing.

Also, does a 30" monitor require the use of both dvi heads of a video card??

Depends on the OS - if you are going to use Vista and AeroGlass you will want to use PCI-E - makes a visible difference. If you are sticking to XP, PCI will do.

I haven't tried a 30" monitor, but I think a 30" monitor (assuming you are talking a computer monitor, and not a TV) would require 1 dual-link DVI connector. I don't know if a card that has 2 dual-link DVI connectors will be able to drive 2 30" LCD computer monitors or not: It probably depends on the card. Hopefully someone with multiple 30" monitor experience can provide a more definitive answer.
