Forums -> UltraMon™ -> Ultramon doesn't even start up...

I tried 2.7 and the new beta, and I can't seem to open the program, ie the main-exe.
The Mirrorclient.exe and the Desktop.exe work but I whenever I doubleclick on the ultramon.exe, the taskbar and the shortcuts-ones my pc gives me the hourglass for a splitsecond and then... nothing happens.
I am currently using the Nvidia Control Panel for my to TFTs but it lacks some essential options (such as being able to maximize windows only on one of the two monitors instead of stretching it to 2560pixels, which is annoying when I want to watch a movie in fullscreen and makes playing games downright impossible).
I hope someone can clear this up for me..
thx in advance

UltraMon gets started automatically at system startup, you should have an icon for it in the system tray.

The maximize issue sounds like you're using the video card's span mode, changing to regular extended desktop mode (Dualview) will fix the problem.

Yeah, that's what I figured, running in DualView now.
But Ultramon still doesn't show up anywhere, neither on the taskbar nor in ctrl-alt-del-processes.

Do you have any security software (antivirus, firewall, etc) installed which might prevent UltraMon from getting started?

None whatsoever.
I am completely puzzled as to what causes this to happen. Everyone I know having a two-monitor-setup uses ultramon and it works for them. They have XP with sp2 aswell.

Does the following work:

1) open a command prompt and go to the UltraMon folder

2) run UltraMon.exe with the /? command line argument:

UltraMon.exe /?

You should get a dialog listing all available command line arguments.
