I have an issue that I come across while using Remote Desktop. I am running two monitors, using UltraMon, and I generally leave my e-mail or other applications running on the secondary monitor. After logging in remotely, RDC essentially tells the machine it has a single monitor, leaving the running applications open on the second monitor. I usually am able to bring the windows back by right clicking on the taskbar and maximizing, forcing them back to the primary monitor, however, there are some dialog boxes that do not have a maximize option. UltraMon doesn't give the option to send it back to the primary, since Ultramon now assumes that I am running a single monitor. Is there a workaround for this that I am unaware of, or perhaps this can be a feature in the future where a user is able to right click on an application in the taskbar and center it back in the primary window (or a hot-key)?
Thanks! Adam

I believe, hotkey "Move window to primary monitor" should work... at least for me works. (On the other hand I did not test this specific situation.) Regards Lukas

This does not appear to work for me, as the system realizes it only has one monitor and doesn't seem to move the window.
Is there a command (or a possibility of adding a command) that centers the window on the primary monitor?

You have two options:
1) Run the client from a machine with two monitors and use the /span command line switch when you start the terminal services client. You will then have the remote machine's "dual" monitors displayed locally as "dual" monitors. The /span assumes the two monitors are physically side-by-side and the same resolution.
2) Use the width and height command line switches for terminal services. /w:xxxx where xxxx is the width resolution and /h:yyyy where yyyy is the height resolution.
So if you run the following on a machine with a single monitor:
%SystemRoot%\system32\mstsc.exe /w:2560 /h:1024
Your Remote Desktop will run inside a window that is scrollable vertically and horizontally with the above dimensions. This will allow you to see and interact with the windows that were on the second monitor of the host PC.

Thanks, I was unaware of the command line arguments for the client.
However, Christian, would it be possible to add a hot-key command that centers a window on the primary monitor (regardless of whether or not the system is in multiple monitor mode or not)? This would be helpful for RDC, and possibly useful even while using multiple monitors anyways.

The Move Window hotkey should work fine with offscreen windows, even if only a single monitor is enabled. I tested with Notepad moved completely offscreen, and UltraMon 3.0.2 on Vista.
A feature for moving all offscreen windows back to the visible desktop will be considered for a future release.
