I have a new HP DC7800 desktop PC with a Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 card. The card is hooked up to Dual Viewsonic 1600x1200 LCDs via a DMS59 to dual DVI cable. I can not get this setup to work. In device manager only one of the monitors is listed. In the Nvidia Control panel when i select dual displays and click apply all my settings are automatically reverted back to to single monitor settings. I have tried several different versions of the drivers, reseated the card several times, rebuilt the OS, tried a 8400GS card. All have the same result. Any suggestions on what else to try? Is this a known issue? Should i just go ATI and avoid the Nvidia drivers with Vista x64?

I don't know what might cause this, but the NVS 290 works fine for me with 64-bit Vista.

My setup is slightly different though, with two NVS 290 cards for a total of 3 monitors, one PCIe x16 card and one PCIe x1. I'm currently using the 169.39 Nvidia drivers.
