Spent a good part of the day disabling different items in Device Manager, etc, trying to find what was causing my Office 2007 apps' icons and buttons to look like I was running under Windows 3.1 with 16 colors and an old vga graphics card.
Only happened when I was running in dual screen mode. With only the primary display enabled, it looked fine.
Finally found the Ultramon mirror driver after selecting 'Show Hidden Devices'. Disabled it, and Office 2007 looks correct now.
I use Ultramon to put a task bar across two additional external monitors via a Matrox DualHead2Go device into a laptop docking station.
Didn't see anything when I searched this forum, so this is just an fyi in case anyone else searches the site looking for hints on this problem.

Make sure you have the latest version of UltraMon installed, 2.7.1 or the 3.0 beta.
I can't reproduce this issue with UltraMon 3.0.2 and Office 2007 on XP SP3.

I do have 2.7.1 installed. Have had this version for a while.
Thanks.

We are still on XP SP2 here.

Unfortunately I don't know what might cause this on your system, there were no major changes in the mirroring feature between 2.7.1 and 3.0.2.
This should no longer be an issue with the new version of mirroring planned for 3.0 Beta 3.

I'm running Vista Ultimate 64-bit edition and am having the same issue with the Office 2007 buttons/icons. This isn't really a problem since I develop for Office and don't really use it myself, except for Outlook, just figured it should be noted.
Also, I can't utilize Windows Vista DreamScene content in individual screens/monitors. I can use the Windows Personalize button to enable it across both monitors, but I can't use the Wallpaper feature to do the same across both, or individually. Is this a missing feature, or is there a patch available?
Thanks,

Ahad, this has to be due to something else, the mirroring feature doesn't get installed on Vista.
Regarding DreamScene: this isn't compatible with UltraMon, DreamScene completely takes over wallpaper management.

I'm running the latest beta of UltraMon, and you were correct. I hadn't restarted my machine, and it resolved that issue. Don't know why that would make a difference, but apparently it did.
In either case, I was just wondering about DreamScene content. That's a shame. I do appreciate the speed of your reply.
Thanks,
