Hello there!

I have a problem with my wallpapers (I see it's a relative common problem here =D) but I've already checked almost every topic uncluding "wallpaper + problem" and none gives me an answer that can solve mine.

Screen setup:

LEFT MONITOR (Secondary) RIGHT MONITOR (Primary)
1600x1200 1920x1200

- Using Windows Vista Business 64-bit
- Got Ultramon 64-bit version

My problem is rather hard to explain, that's why you'll have to watch this picture:

I hope you got enough information, I'm really thankful for answers. (Sorry if the english isn't perfect ^^).

Have a nice day!

Oh, thought I could edit the post. Anyway, the left monitor's size is 1600x1200 and the left one's 1920x1200 if it wasn't clear enough.
Cheezen   2008-06-15 06:42
Darn, this is embarrassing =D. The LEFT one's 1600x1200 and the RIGHT one's 1920x1200. Sorry for spamming, being a little stupid =).

Are you using version 2.7.1 or earlier? If yes, installing the latest 3.0 beta will fix the problem.

Wallpapers don't show up at all when using Ultramon wallpaper settings.

The pic is poor quality but it gets the point across, when select a profile and hit apply it does not display it. The only way to get a wallpaper is to use vista's display options then I can only put the same wallpaper on both monitors.

I am using Vista 32bit and Ultramon 3.0.2

Thanks in advance!

Do you get any error messages?

none at all

Can you manually select the wallpaper bitmap generated by UltraMon as your wallpaper?

The bitmap is located in the folder C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Realtime Soft\UltraMon.

You'll need to select the tile option for the wallpaper to get displayed correctly, this is the second position option.

I can manually select the bitmap, but it is not the image I have selected in the Ultramon wallpaper window, in fact I believe it is the last wallpaper that worked through Ultramon.

I also tried setting the wallpaper to tile but it makes no difference, my desktop remains straight black with no image.

What happens if you delete "UltraMon Wallpaper.bmp", then apply your wallpaper again via UltraMon?

I deleted it and it still comes up black when I try to set a new one, it also does not put a wallpaper image file in that folder
Christian Studer   2008-06-27 10:55
Can you create a file in the folder manually? Maybe your user account doesn't have the necessary permissions for the folder.

Unfortunately UltraMon won't raise an error if creating the wallpaper bitmap fails, I'll fix this for the next release.

Sorry I've been away for the past 2 days, I really appreciate all the help.

I can manually create a file in the folder, but it does not change anything. Both wallpapers remain black.

Other things I have tried:
-disabled second monitor, wallpaper will not show on just primary
-when i select a color instead of an image it doesn't display the color, just black
Christian Studer   2008-06-29 11:16
Unfortunately I don't know what else might cause this.

I'll add better error reporting in the next release, please test again with the next release when available and let me know if you still encounter the problem.

Will do, if it fixes itself or I somehow come across the problem I will keep you updated. You've been great help and I am impressed with your response time. Keep up the amazing work with Ultramon!
