On a laptop running Vista (32-bit, ultimate), sometimes the second monitor isn't automatically enabled. I right-click on the Ultramon system tray icon and select Enable Secondary. This works fine, however during the process, some non-visible windows are made visible. Examples include the AcrobatTrayIcon as well as others which have icons but no titles. Some windows are solid black and can't be moved or closed, and stay on top of other windows. It seems random as to which windows are made visible. The only way to get rid of them is to log out. Any thoughts on other ways to get rid of these windows? Thanks!

Which version of UltraMon are you using?
I can't reproduce this issue with version 3.0.2 on 32-bit Vista SP1.

I'm using v3.0.2 on Vista SP1.
Here's the system info, if that helps:
2 monitors Current desktop: 2560x1024 (0,0 - 2560,1024)
Monitor 1 - Generic PnP Monitor (primary): Settings: 1280x800, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 0,0 - 1280,800. Workspace: 0,0 - 1130,770 Video card: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family Device: \\.\DISPLAY1\Monitor0
Monitor 2 - Generic PnP Monitor: Settings: 1280x1024, 32-bit color, 60 Hz refresh rate Coordinates: 1280,0 - 2560,1024. Workspace: 1280,0 - 2560,994 Video card: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family Device: \\.\DISPLAY2\Monitor0
I occaisonally get a notification that Vista is switching to Basic (I presume as opposed to the Aero scheme), however I don't recall that notification occuring at the times when these windows show up.
I've since also recalled that I could use Process Explorer to identify the processes these windows belong to and then kill/restart them.
As a result, if you can't repro the issue, I wouldn't suggest spending any more time on it on my account.
Let me know if you want more info. Thanks!

Maybe it's an issue with another application, I've had a similar problem a couple of years ago with an old version of the Nvidia nView Desktop Manager. An upgrade for the Nvidia software fixed the problem.
