On my six 15" monitor setup maximizing a window fills the screen which is fine. On my dual 26" setup maximizing a window, let's say IE, fills the entire screen, very bad. Is there a way to maximize a window to the point where the scroll bars go away?

I'm not sure if that's possible, but support for this will be considered for a future release.
SplitView might help.
