I can't figure out if there is a way in UltraMon to make apps open up on a certain monitor.
Firefox used to open up on a particular monitor, but now opens up on another monitor, and I do not know how to change it.
Grateful for tip.

With most applications you can just move them to the other monitor and close them there, the next time they will start on that monitor.
To position an application via UltraMon, right-click the application's shortcut, select Properties from the menu, then select the UltraMon - Window tab and configure the settings as desired. Please note that this may not work with all applications.
With Firefox, UltraMon can only position the first instance.

Funny you should mention Firefox, Christian. Suddenly, FF3 refuses to open anywhere than on one of my monitors (the wrong one :-).
I see there is an update to 3.0.1; perhaps it will make a difference.
I open FF with a keyboard button. Any way to use UltraMon in such a case?

Does the button launch a shortcut? If yes, it should work fine with a shortcut with custom position settings.

Christian, I used Microsoft iType to program keys to open certain applications, e.g., Firefox. I do not know if iType has editable shortcuts for this, and, if so, where they are located. Would you by any chance know? (This would be the preferred way.)
Alt. 1:
There is a field in the iType programming window with "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe". Is there any switch I can put in there to make it open up on a certain monitor?
Alt. 2:
I can create a a shortcut (on the Desktop, for instance, for Firefox, and program its Properties as you said, and then have the iType-programmed keyboard key open the shortcut file.
Best regards,

I'm not familiar with iType, but both options should work fine.
For option 1, open properties for the shortcut with the custom position settings, then copy the target field and paste it into iType, most likely this will work fine.
