I tried installing the beta of Ultramon and windows XP began to randomly start crashing, I uninstalled and the crashes have stopped. So I decided to install the stable 2.7 version and my system crashes every once and a while again, I uninstalled and no more crashing problems. Is there any known issue as to what may be causing this? I have Windows XP, Athlon X2 6400, 2GB DDR2 RAM, and the latest Nvidia drivers for my graphics card any help would be appreciated. It's nice to have a screensaver that comes on both monitors instead of having one stay on while the other has a screen saver and the smart taskbar is extremely useful as well, thank you for any help you may give.

If the whole system crashed (BSOD or kernel crash), it might be related to UltraMon's mirroring feature.
To install UltraMon without the mirroring feature, deselect the feature on the Customize Installation screen of the setup.

I have deselected that feature when I have installed it both times and it still seems to crash, all I have enable when I install is the Screensaver option and the Smart taskbar option, I deselect both the Mirror and the Wallpaper option.

What's the driver that caused the crash? The name of the driver should be listed on the crash screen.
If you can't see the crash screen because the system reboots immediately, go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery and uncheck 'Automatically restart'.

I will try and see what causes the crash by doing what you say here and will get back to you as soon as it occurs thank you.

I reinstalled the program and did what you said to make it so the computer didn't automatically reboot, but my system hasn't crashed yet so I am not sure what the problem was I will post again if the crash occurs but it has now been almost 36 hours since the reinstall and nothing has happened yet, before it was occuring maybe every hour or so. The only thing I have done since the reinstall is that I disabled system restore could that have been conflicting with it for some odd reason?

Difficult to say, but it does seem rather unlikely.
