How can I manually uninstall UltraMon 2.7.1?
When I try to enter my registration code (through Help, About), I get:
AboutDlg::OnRegister: MisiCollectUserInfo failed with 1601.
I reckon the install/uninstall information in my registry is corrupted and the easiest solution is probably to manually uninstall, by deleting the contents of the UltraMon folder *and* deleting several registry keys, then rebooting and reinstalling from scratch. I need a list of the files and folders to be deleted and the registry keys to be removed in order to remove 100% of UltraMon. After that, and a reboot, I'll reinstall and load my new license key.
Or is there an easier way?

Does uninstalling UltraMon via Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs still work?
The problem is with registry entries created and managed by Windows Installer, I couldn't tell you exactly what entries Windows Installer creates.
The error code you got, 1601, means the following: "The Windows Installer service could not be accessed. Contact your support personnel to verify that the Windows Installer service is properly registered."

No, the Windows Installer is presently hosed up. I've dealt with this in the past a few times, but not enough to remember how I fixed it... sigh. I just remember that when your Windows Installer gets screwed up, it can eat an entire morning fixing it. $@#$%^!~@!
I'll fix the installer then try again with UltraMon

BTW, if everything else works fine and you just need to enter your registration information, you could do this with SetRegCode.exe, which enters the registration information directly in the registry.
But UltraMon uses the Windows Installer for other features as well, so you might encounter other issues.
