I held off on upgrading to 2k for a long time because I was running a Leadtek DH Pro. Upgraded from a TNT2 / Virge3D combo. So anyway when I heard about the nVidia QuickTweak utilities, I went ahead and stepped up to Win2k. So having it as one huge display takes some getting used to, as does having to rely on a hack (I consider QuickTweak to be one) to do single-screen maximising. But I found something that really cheered me up. I absolutely love spanning wallpapers, but that meant enabling Active Desktop under 98. Hardly a stable combination. But now under 2k, I can span my wallpapers without using Active Desktop! Realised that as long as I keep the image as a BMP, Active Desktop doesn't have to come into the picture. Sure it takes up a bit more RAM, but I have 384Mb and Active Desktop is a way bigger hog of system resources.
