Hi:
Just built a new PC and installed Ultramon on 64 bit Vista.
Two similar Dell monitors (same res), both on a dual DVI ATI card.
When I set up wallpapers, I highlight, say, the right monitor, browse to the desktop image file for that monitor, select the image, hit "apply" and it puts the image onto the desktop - BUT ON THE WRONG MONITOR.
The dropdown box shows the correct monitor on the correct side but it is putting the image on the OTHER monitor when I hit "apply". This makes a spanned image impossible (if I use a 2X wide image size and and select "one background/image for the whole desktop" it will put the right half of the image on the left and vice-versa).
Latest version being used.
Have I set something wrong somewhere or is this a bug?

Are you using the 3.0 beta or 2.7.1?
This was an issue with 2.7.1 and earlier releases on Vista, happened if you have a monitor to the left of the primary.

OK, Yes - 2.7.1.
I assume that I can just download 3.0 beta and it will overwrite 2.7.1?
Is this just 64 bit Vista?
Thanks

No, this was an issue on both 32- and 64-bit Vista.
You can install the 3.0 beta over your existing installation, you don't need to uninstall it first.

Christian,
This is contrary to what you posted in other threads that I started as well. Your responses to the OP indicates that the problem was solved in later updates of Ultramon as well as Vista 32/x64 with all the latest updates.
This problem still carries over and is still present in the current version of Ultramon and Vista x64 Ultimate w/SP1 and all latest updates. Am I missing something?

Works fine for me on 64-bit Vista SP1 with UltraMon 3.0.2.
Are you using any desktop/wallpaper utility, or special configuration for the wallpaper?

Christian,
I am seeing the issue here. Vista 32bit with latest patches and latest Ultramon. What triggers it in my case is that I am moving my laptop from an office location with a docking station to a home location without the dock. In both cases I have 2 monitors (laptop + 1 external screen) and the laptop is to the left. My home monitor is a bit bigger and Wide an although Ultramon identifies it correctly the desktop picture it displays is the one supposed to be on my laptop and vice versa. It also displays the picture based on my office display size (not stretched correctly).
I don't have any other wallpaper or display software installed.
Hope it helps

Eric, if you go to UltraMon menu > Wallpaper, do you get prompted to refresh the wallpaper?
If not, does the wallpaper get applied correctly if you change a setting, for example the background color, then hit Apply?

Christian,
1. no I don't get prompted to refresh 2. If I change a setting to the right screen it is applied on the left; and vice-versa.
Everything is just reversed except the pop-up display the proper screen name. If I click on the right one it displays "1. Acer X223W on NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M" and my external monitor is indeed to the right by the wallpaper shown is the one I see on my laptop screen on my left.
small correction about what I said last time: I said the wallpaper on my external monitor at home was not stretched correctly (too short) as if it was remembering the size of my office monitor but I now think it uses the size of my laptop screen instead. Not sure but that would make sense.

Unfortunately I don't know what else might cause this, let me know if you find out anything else.
You do have version 3.0.2 installed, and not 2.7.1?

Yes, I have 3.02

Eric, could it be that the monitor numbers get changed, for example the internal screen is number 1 at work and number 2 at home?
This usually happens on laptops when the primary monitor gets changed.

Christian,
Sorry for the long delay. I think you hit close to target. I've been working with a different external monitor and have not seen the issue...until I set the external monitor as primary.
So it seems to happen only when the external monitor is set as primary. If I find anything else I will let you know.
Thanks

Christian,
FYI, the problem seem to have disappeared with 3.03.
Thanks
