Hi, I want to get my RDP session to always open up on my 2'nd monitor. I have searched the forums, and noted the Ultramon window tab suggestions, however as I think you may have guessed, the RDP shortcut doesnt show this tab.
I know that what I want to achieve is possible becasue on my previous PC it worked like I wanted it to, just I cant figure out how the heck I managed it!!

To get the UltraMon tabs, create a shortcut to the .rdp file, then open properties for that.
But UltraMon doesn't seem to be able to correctly position recent versions of Remote Desktop, during testing I couldn't get it working on Vista.

Thanks, I'm using XP, I tried what you said, and the RDP 'connecting..' window comes up on monitor 2 but the main app still loads on monitor 1, any further ideas please??

You could try if it works with the Show option set to Last Used Position, this is handled differently. Just move the main window to the desired monitor, then close it there, UltraMon should then move it to the same position the next time.

I have been struggling with this same problem and have finally worked out how to solve this.
You just need to make a shortcut using the command line parameters rather than pointing to an .rdp file. For example, create a shortcut to:
mstsc.exe /v:SERVERADDRESS /f
and then set the monitor you want it to start up on on the Ultramon properties tab.

this is interesting because my mstsc windows always open on the mointor they were lasted used on. in my case the second monitor. I don't actually use links though, i fire it up from run.

I've tried every possible layout, and RDP refuses to open full screen on the secondary display -- highly frustrating! This is in Vista using 3.0.4 beta.
