I have been using dual monitors for a while and can't think of any setup changes I have made. Today I booted my machine up and only can use only one monitor (the other is just black). It's not a hardware fault because I can see the bios text on it when my machine is booting.
Ultramon shows that I have 2 monitors, 1 disabled in the about box. Clicking enable secondary makes the working screen flicker but then nothing happens. In device manager, I only see a single monitor.
I would be really grateful if anyone can help me to get my second monitor working again. The following is my setup:
Vista Home 2 x AL2216W monitors at 1680 x 1050 60 hz (both identical) Nvidia 8600gt

Also, I have tried rebooting and enabling the monitor via Ultramon, Windows Display Settings and the Nvidia control panel with no joy.

The problem appears to be fixed. Not sure exactly what sorted it, I tried a lot of things.

Glad to hear you got it working again, I'm not sure though what might have caused this.
