I’m running UltraMon 3.03 with a VisionTek Radeon HD 4870X2 video card on a windows XP workstation. I use UltraMon to clone my desktop from my 30 inch dell monitor to my 12 inch Wacom Cintiq tablet. This worked great with an ATI 4850 card. UltraMon displayed a perfect 2500X1600 resolution on my large monitor and mirrored it to my 1200X800 Wacom tablet with scaling.
After I installed my new card from VisionTek I got the following error: CrossFireX is currently enabled. Before you can enable an extended desktop or reassign the primary display you need to disable CrossFireX. Please recheck your CrossFireX status.
I get the same error message when I try to clone the display in the Display Settings in Control Panel.
I can clone a display through ATI’s Catalyst Control Center but with their software I’m forced to use the display resolution of the smallest screen. In this case 1200X800 on a 30 inch monitor.
Any suggestions?
Cheers

You'll probably need to disable CrossFireX, UltraMon requires extended desktop mode in order to do mirroring. Most likely this option can be disabled via the ATI software.

The 4870 X2 does not have the ability to disable CrossFireX. UltraMon won't work with this card.
