When I try to install the Mavis Beacon software, a message comes up (I have Zone Alarm) saying that it is trying to change my background wallpaper. Is there some way that I can use this software without changing my wallpaper?

I'm not familiar with this software, but you should be able to change the wallpaper back to the original one via UltraMon menu > Wallpaper.
