When i launch UltraMon 3.0.3 it stops after a minute or so and displays the following error:
UltraMon encountered a fatal error and will exit. Version: 3.0.3 OS: 6.0.6001 Service Pack1 x32 Source file:.\WndExt.cpp Line: 1118 Return value: 0 Last error: 161
I do have a multi monitor setup but the monitor from my laptop has a 1280x800 resolution and the other monitor has a resolution of 1280x1024, maybe this could help troubleshooting the error. Latest Windows Updates have been installed on the computer.

Do you get the same error even if no applications are running when you start UltraMon?

I don't have the error when there are no applications running. When I launch Lotus Notes 8 through MS App-V 4.5 client then I immediately have this error.
However parts of Ultramon keep on running like the taskbar extension and the wallpaper is actually changed and stays that way. The system tray icon is hower not visible anymore.

I'll disable the error message in the next release, but unfortunately don't know what causes the underlying problem.
For some reason UltraMon can't get the name of the executable for the process, which prevents it from applying application-specific settings to that application.

That could explain the problem since when an App-V application is launched it comes from the (in our case) Q:\ drive. This drive is only accessible by the App-V process and the application running, if Ultramon tries to get information about the executable (which is actually running in the Task Manager) it will probably fail.
Maybe it is possible to detect if the application is launched by App-V and then perform other tasks ?

I don't know if that's possible, but once the error message is disabled UltraMon will work fine with the application, you just won't be able to configure compatibility options for the application (for example disable the buttons, etc).

Hi,
I installed the 3.0.4 beta, and I'm still getting this error dialog. Does it makes sense to anyone ? :(

I managed to reproduce the bug. Download and install GGClient (garena.com), add someone in your buddy list, and wait until your contact comes online. You'll have a small GGC dialog poping in the right-bottom edge of your screen (right above the system tray) notifying that he's online, then the Ultramon error dialog appears.
If it's not enough, note that I was in a Warcraft 3 RPG Room ; so maybe you have to be in a room (but I doubt it).
I hope it helped.
