hey there, I need your help with a laptop purchase.

I have bought already two brand new HP LP2475w which I got at a bargain price. The original idea was to connect them to a HP xw6600 workstation via a graficcard that supports both 1920x1200 monitors as simple desktop and which supports UltraMon, so no spanning.

Now I might (have to) buy a notebook instead of the workstation as my job project requirement has changed. I thought of a HP Elite notebook 8530w.

How can I run th LP2475w and the 8530w together ?? Can i connect a monitor each to the notebooks VGA and HDMI port or do I need the docking station ??

I am only using MS Office, Skype, Browser and a lot of Mindmanager.

Any input welcome.

It's worth a try, but in my experience you can't use the VGA and TV-out at the same time. The docking station should enable use of two external monitors.

Christian,

merci. I have now tried it myself and the 8530w with quadro FX770M runs both 24 Zoll Monitors in full 1920x1200 resolution from the VGA and HDMI ports.

Ultramon works fine as a trial, so you will have a new customer early next year.

rgds from Zurich to Bern,
