Skype's main window shows Skype (tm) in the title bar, with the little tm symbol. The ultramon taskbar doesn't show the tm symbol, it just shows a black box.
The ultramon taskbar also has some other graphical discrepancies between it and the regular vista taskbar, like no transparency, no borders to the buttons, and the font is wrong.

Sounds like you're using version 2 of UltraMon, all of this should work fine with the 3.0 Beta, you can download the latest release here.

Thanks for the tip, I had started looking for alternatives, but it seems this latest version is what I want!
