Hello,
it seems that with latest beta of Ultramon the "control center" window of the Protector Suite QL application (software of most fingerstrip reader from Upek, like DELL bundle for example) can show up (it disappears in a second).
I've just report this to Upek support, maybe usefull information for you too.

Unfortunately I can't test this myself, but most likely the application has a problem with the window buttons added by UltraMon, as a workaround you could disable them for the application. You can do this under UltraMon Options > Compatibility.

Nice Tip!!!
I've never had issues with any window, so I didn't know this option.
It solves my problem.
Many thanks.

This worked: I uninstalled both UltraMon and Protector Suite, (you don't need to uninstall your fingerprint data, just the app.) Then I reinstalled Protector Suite (v5.8.2) completely including the hardware step (the fingerprint reader.) I may have rebooted one more time after that, probably unnecessary, and logged into Vista using the fingerprint reader. Then I reinstalled UltraMon. Since then, Protector Suite's Start Control Center has launched without a problem.
Hope this helps. JR

Using UltraMon 3.0.10 and Upek Protector Suite QL 5.8.2 build 4640, I had to enable the following custom compatibility settings with ctlcntr.exe (Control Center) before it would display properly.
-- Disable Window Buttons -- Disable Menu Commands
-- Disable dragging of maximized windows
With all three of these options checked, Control Center is able to open.
