I've just experienced my first UltraMon crash. I was playing Burnout: Paradise on my PC, I alt-tabbed to Windows and to my second monitor where I use the smart bar on, and then the Smart Bar crashed, not UltraMon, but only the smart bar. I then went to the UltraMon settings, turned the smart bar off, turned it on again and it was there again.

If you want the 'b87e_appcompat.txt' as well, I can upload that too.
Using UltraMon 3.0.4 Beta on Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 32-bit.

I would need a crash dump to look into this further, if you get this again please check if a file named user.dmp was created in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson.

Doubt that this will happen again because it was very rare, but if it does I will check that folder. Thanks for the reply.

This happened twice in row to me just now, guess it's not that rare after all, did you get the dump?

Thanks for the crash dump, I'm not sure what would cause this though.
Did you always get the crash the same way, by alt-tabbing from Burnout to another application?
Please also run EnumHooks and post the results here or mail the file to support@realtimesoft.com.

Yes, it always happens the same way: when I alt-tab from Burnout to another (in this case Windows Live Messenger) application.

I have now installed the demo of Burnout Paradise, but so far haven't been able to reproduce the issue. Do you get the same error when alt-tabbing to a different application running on the UltraMon taskbar, for example Notepad or Calculator?
Logitech SetPoint is the only other application which installs a hook. Seems unlikely the issue would be due to this, but might still be worth a try to disable it temporarily.

For what it's worth, I'm using the full version of Burnout Paradise (not the demo). I've been alt-tabbing quite a while now again, and so far no crashes yet... I'll try alt-tabbing to some different programs, but this might just be a very unique situation which only happens to a small number of people.
