I'm using Outlook 2003, and regularly get a popup error saying that Outlook is not responding with options to wait or close (this is an issue unrelated to Ultramon). I believe this is a generic Windows dialog rather than an Outlook specific one.
The problem I am having is that Ultramon 3.0.4 beta causes the error window to flicker and the buttons cannot be used. I have to close Ultramon to be able to click either option. I am not sure how you can deliberately cause the error dialog to open.

Could you send me a screenshot of the error dialog to support@realtimesoft.com?
So far I haven't been able to reproduce this issue, I have a test application which hangs, and when clicking the close button I get the same 'application not responding' dialog with close and wait options, with the Move Window button added, but selecting any of the options works fine.

This is how the error dialog looks. This is a random internet screenshot rather than from my machine. I'm using Aero glass so the window title etc looks a bit different on mine.

I will try and get a screenshot from my machine when it next happens if you want. Was your test done on Vista 64-bit too?

Seems to be more or less the same dialog, I just had one more option (check for solution), but that probably won't make any difference.
I tested on 64-bit Vista SP1, also with the Aero style.
Would you be interested in running my test application to check if you get the same issue with the error dialog?

Yes, I will have a look at the test application. Please provide a link to the app and any instructions needed (or do you want to email it or something?)

I have uploaded the test application: HungApp.exe
Run the application, then click on the close button, and when the title bar changes to (Not Responding), click on the close button again, you will then get the 'application is not responding' dialog.

I tried your program and I can reproduce the error with the following steps:
1. Follow your instructions and the error dialog appears and looks OK (no flicker yet) 2. Minimise the dialog by clicking on the app in the taskbar 3. Maximise the dialog again by clicking on the app in the taskbar again - now it flickers and no buttons on it respond
Seems to be 100% reproducible

Still can't reproduce the issue, the error dialog works fine for me after having been minimized and then restored again.
When this happens, do you see high CPU usage for UltraMon.exe in Task Manager > Processes?

Ultramon and UltramonTaskBar are using about 2% each Dwm.exe is using 20% Wefault.exe is using about 15%
Is there any other information I can give to help to reproduce the issue?

Does disabling the window buttons under UltraMon Options > Buttons and Menu Commands fix the problem?

Yes, that fixes the problem. Do you know how I can disable the buttons for this dialog only please (which filename should I give to Ultramon)? Will this be fixed in the next release do you think?

To do this, disable buttons for WerFault.exe from folder C:\Windows\System32.
Currently I can't reproduce this issue, but if you're interested I could send you a test version of UltraMon which outputs diagnostic information. You would need to be able to run a debug monitor like DebugView on your system. Let me know if you would like to do this.
