Forums -> Multiple monitors -> Multi Monitor Issue: Wallpaper on mon2 always mirrors mon 1 unless screen locked

I'm not sure why, but this only recently started happening. I went in and set one large image to be stretched centered across both my Lenovo T60 (mon 1) and my HP1740 LCD (mon 2).

When the screen is locked (Windows security lock), everything looks as it should. When I unlock the screen, mon 2 is mirroring mon 1. After a little trial and error I finally decided to cheat, and cut up the image so that the left side was on the left monitor (mon 1) and the right side was on the right monitor (mon 2). That did not do the trick either. Mon 2 is still mirroring mon 1.

The thing is, until last week, I never had this problem.

My Lenovo T60 has an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 video card, running Catalyst Control Center 2008.1110.2145.39024.

I have tried playing with the CCC settings, but no luck. Any thoughts?

I have the same problem on my laptop which has an nvidia quadro NVS 135M in it. It worked previously (before christmas) then broke some time in jan. Has anyone found a fix yet? my spanned wallpaper is failing to impress my collegues ;)

aha! i've found the cause of the problem. It's fences. Uninstall it, re-select your ultramon wallpaper and hey presto, it's all back as it was.

zombiefly, this issue should be fixed in the current version of Fences, I recently tested with Fences and UltraMon.

why didn't I check this earlier! I just uninstalled Fences and the issue went away (I did come across this independently!)...funny how we all use the same software...
