Don't get me wrong - I love Ultramon. It's worth the money. Or... it would be, if not for these dang bugs.
And on my system, beta 4 is more problematic than beta 3. Which is sad. I'm starting to think about looking into the alternatives out there, what with Win7 right around the corner and the bugs still not worked out of beta 4.
My gripes: 1. Newly introduced bug in beta 4 with the splash plugin I use with Thunderbird. (already previously discussed, here.) 2. Newly introduced bug: when I'm moving files from my workstation to my NAS and minimize the move/copy window, the Ultramon taskbar button lingers behind. 3. Ultramon titlebar buttons are even slower when moving windows than they were in beta 3. This, despite the changelog claim that this bug has been fixed. For the record, I have used other software that adds buttons to the titlebar, and NONE of them had this lag problem. 4. Crashes more often. 5. Randomly ignores the compatibility settings I have for certain applications. This also happened in beta 3, but has certainly not improved any.
I really enjoy the feature that Ultramon brings to the table... but I think it's long past time that you "step it up." These annoying little gimpy bugs have existed for far too long!!
To be fair, these bugs are only so annoying because Ultramon is one of the few apps that is ALWAYS running. The nature of Ultramon always being present makes these bugs that much more noticable. So perhaps it isn't that Ultramon is buggier than other software - it's just that the bugs are more noticable.
Either way - please take care of this stuff. Soon I will be looking into a couple alternatives that I have found out there. I'd really like to come back to Ultramon - but not because they're lacking, but because Ultramon has been fixed.
Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't know what would cause this on your system, but so far I haven't been able to reproduce the issues you mentioned.
Thunderbird and Splash worked fine for me, I also noticed no problems when minimizing a file copy dialog or when moving windows around. This is on 64-bit Vista SP1 with the Aero theme.
Regarding crashes: please post the error message you get.
5) might be due to the specific application for which custom settings are configured, please let me know with what application you're seeing the problem, and what features you have disabled for the application.
