Christian your thoughts on this please. I am running XP Pro with 2 monitors. Ultramon version is 3.0.4 beta. I use Microsoft Office Communicator 2005.
I get an audible bong when attempting to select Add, Delete or View Contacts from the Contacts drop down menu. I have a similar problem selecting options from the Actions menu. Its as if I had another window open that needs to be closed first.
If I exit Ultramon the problem goes away.
Thank you for your input.

Might be related to the window buttons, please try if disabling them for the application via UltraMon Options > Compatibility fixes the problem.

I can't believe it took me this long to figure out that this is why Communicator was screwed up on my machine!!! So frustrating...

I've been having this problem for almost a year and I finally realized that when in remote desktop (where ultramon is disabled) it worked fine. I put two and two together, came to realtimesoft and found this thread.
Thanks. I just wish that the solution would have shown up on a google search like 90% of other techsupport problems do.

OMFG.....absolutely GENIUS!! I have been battling this crap for over a year. Even removing registry files, multiple re-installs, and MS patches!! Even my help desk was stumped. Now I can go back to them and let them know!
Thank you so much!

Hi,
Microsoft communicator normally compatible only with Internet Explorer. Some times "Option" menu won't work.
If your problem is "option" menu is not working then follow steps:- 1) In Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access tool bar, there is a Lock symbol. Click on it > go to settings 2) there are three options a) automatically block b) choose content to block and c) off 3) select "C" option for OFF. Click Ok.
Now you will be able to see the options. Isn't it?

Thank you for the fix... A little more clairification for ultramon v3.2.2... Options -> {Buttons and menu commands}Tab [nothing on compatability tab about buttons] ... uncheck all choices available
"~VIOLA~" i can add people to my IM conversation again... No restart required...

You don't need to disable the buttons completely, just configure settings for Communicator via UltraMon Options > Compatibility, then disable the buttons there.
