Forums -> Multiple monitors -> but I only have 1 monitor

came across your forum while troubleshooting my problem. I have 1 monitor, a Samsung SyncMaster 750s. In my device manager (win98) it shows 2 monitors, the Samsung and an "unknown monitor". If I remove the unknown monitor, windows finds it again on restart. If I remove both monitors, windows finds both on restart.

My video card is a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400. In advanced settings, there is a tab called TwinView. There is only 1 place to plug in a monitor on the back of my case. My mobo is an ECS K7S5A with a SiS735 chipset. Please help me get rid of second non-existant monitor.

Thanks

This is a bug of the Nvidia drivers for Win98/Me, apparently all GeForce2 MX cards get treated as TwinView cards.

I'm not aware of any solution to this problem.

Thank-you Christian. Going to XP soon so I hope that takes care of it.

I have the same card as you but do not have the problem you experience. Have you tried the latest drivers (4.13.01.2311)?

Download them and try.
