I installed UltraMon on all of our Vista PC's yesterday, expecting that their reboot this morning would have everything up and running. When I was testing the application, I used my Vista machine which only has 2 monitors and all was well.

Here are the issues we are having.

1) The taskbars appear, but internet explorer windows in the task bar (on secondary monitors) do not display the thumbnails when you roll over them and my users like that. Note that the IE thumbnails do appear on the primary monitor.

2) More interesting is that none of the new installations have the two extra buttons on the windows menu bar, even though the options are checked.

3) If these users want to disable the smart taskbar (because of #1), they have to go to options because the smart taskbar option doesn't show on the drop down box.

4) One user had her PC crash today. I disabled UltraMon using msconfig and after restart, she was fine. Earlier reboots without removing Ultramon repeated the crash.

1) UltraMon doesn't support task preview, support for this will be considered for a future release.

2) I'm not sure what would cause this, are you sure you have version 3.0.4 installed? You can see the version under UltraMon menu > About.

If yes, does the issue occur with all applications, also Internet Explorer and Notepad?

3) You can enable the option under UltraMon Options > Customization, though this shouldn't be necessary with a new installation of 3.0.4 as the option is enabled by default.

4) Seems unlikely that UltraMon would be able to cause a system crash, to troubleshoot this further I would recommend disabling automatic system restarting under Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings, you should then see the name of the driver that crashed on the error screen.
