I have a Dell Dimension 420 running a PCIe Radoen HD 2400 as its main video. I am trying to run a third monitor off of a PCI Radeon 7000. This would require that I use two different ATI drivers, as the Radeon uses the older "pre-r300" driver. Sadly, when I try to run both drivers I get BSODs. Anyone know how to do this successfully?

As far as i know it isn't possible. I had the same Problem with this setup:
Primary: ATI Radeon X1900 XTX Secondary: ATI Radeon 9250
A year ago or so it was possible to run thaht kind of setup, but then ATI changed something in the drivers and it gave me an error whenever i tried to install the drivers for the secondary card.
I got myself an X1650Pro as a new secondary because the X1650Pro and the X1900 XTX use the same driver. (On the ATI page where you select your graphiccard you get redirected to the same page)

Does Catalyst 8.1 not detect both cards?
Also, FWIW, if you have such a heterogeneous multi-adapter config, you won't be able to run Aero when you upgrade to Vista or 7.
