Hi,
I want to use three monitors with my PC for day trading. I am thinking of using a MATROX G450 128Mb MMS QUAD PCI Graphics Card DVI SVGA, my PC has Intel Pentium D processor Dual Core each running at 2.8Ghz, 800Mhz FSB, 2 x 2MB 1.2 cache with NVIDIA GeForce 6200 with Turbocache supporting 256 MB. Are there any known conflicts with the Matrox card and the Nvidia cards? Do I need both? Any help with this is appreciated.

If you have a quad card, why would you need a second card if you only want to drive 3 monitors?
I initially had a problem getting a Matrox G450 PCI (dual output) working with an NVidia AGP card. The NVidia was already in the PC, and I added the Matrox, and I couldn't get both cards to work at the same time. I removed the NVidia, and for a while I ran the 3 monitors with onboard VGA + Matrox. Months later, I reinstalled the NVidia, and this time it worked with the Matrox, and now I can run all 3 monitors via DVI. I didn't load the NVidia tools this time, so that might have helped.

My Nvidia card is what is already in my PC, there is a PCIE x 16 slot and a PCIE x 1 slot on the motherboard. I am not sure if the Nvidia card is in the x 16 or the x 1 slot. From what you have just said, if I replaced the Nvidia card with the Matrox G450 card, in the same slot, the three screens should work OK.
I am not sure what you mean by onboard VGA, please can you explain, sorry but I am not that much of a techy.

The computer has built-in VGA, on the motherboard, though you can't use on-board along with an AGP card, because only one or the other can use the AGP bus. Usually PCI and PCIe will work along with onboard video.
Is your Matrox card a PCI card or a PCIe card? They are very different types of slots.

That's PCI (the old type). Does your computer have any old-style PCI slots? Another concern with that particular card is that I think the G450 has a max res of 1280x1024 for DVI (at least my regular dual-output G450's do), which is fine with my 17" and 19" LCD monitors, since that is the exact res they use, but I would guess you are using larger/higher res monitors, so that might not be the appropriate card for you. If you are using 1280x1024 monitors, then it should work. That is also not a good 3D card (don't expect to play any modern 3D games), but should work fine if you only use 2D apps like I do.
