Forums -> UltraMon™ -> Artifacts on the Sewell USB/DVI card when using Ultramon

We are using a setup of a laptop and 2 monitors where first monitor is connected to a dock and second monitor is connected to the laptop via Sewell USB External Video Card. The systems are running Windows Vista x64 However, under Ultramon 3.0.3 or 3.0.4, we are seeing artifacts for some applications, such as Visual Studio, on the screen that is driven by the external USB card. The specific artufacts we are seeing are that some regions of the screen not updated or do not refresh consistently. While we are not 100% sure on what is the root cause of the issue, exiting from Ultramon seems to fix the issue completely, as soon as it starts up the artifacts are back.

Any ideas?

Sounds like a display driver issue, maybe it has a problem with the window buttons added by UltraMon. For further troubleshooting you could test if disabling the buttons under UltraMon Options > Buttons and Menu Commands fixes the problem.

Thanks for the suggestion. Disabling the buttons seems to help a bit, but not completely. There are still sections of the screen that take extra nudge to get refreshed. Also, it is somewhat inconvenient when the buttons are gone, especially, since I am so used to them.
