Hi I've got smart task bar on the second monitor and having issues with apps maximizing.
When I maximize it goes under the task bar... ><
any idea what I could do to fix this?

Haven't seen this myself so far, does restarting UltraMon fix the problem?

no I have tried even reinstalling it but it does it all the time now ><

Is the taskbar set to be always on top? You can change this setting via right-click on the UltraMon taskbar.

yes it has.
Reboot tends to fix it temporary, however if I lock the PC and go back in it does it again. ><

Which version of UltraMon and Windows are you using?

I am using Version 3.0.5 Beta on Windows XP Pro SP3

I have now tested on XP with 3.0.5, but so far haven't noticed any taskbar problems after locking/unlocking the system.
Do you have any special software installed, for example WindowBlinds or something similar?

not that I'm aware of... I do have google desktop but anything else I don't know.

Do you have the Google Sidebar or the floating Deskbar enabled?
If yes, let me know what settings you are using (always on top, etc), and if you have the side/deskbar on the monitor with the main taskbar, or the one with the UltraMon taskbar.

I've got the Google Desktop as "Sidebar"
my main monitor has the google desktop on the 'right' and main taskbar on the left. It is set to always on top.
as for the smart task bar it's set to same as main bar so it's on the left of the second monitor and always on top.

I'm still not seeing the issue, unfortunately I don't know what else might cause this on your system. If you find out anything else let me know and I'll look into it.
As a workaround you could try setting the workspace area manually as described in this thread, but you would need to do this every time the issue occurs.

Oh you wouldn't believe how I fixed it =_="
I just saw new driver from ATI which was released 6 days ago and I reinstalled it with that. Guess what it's all good now.
Sorry for the trouble.

I've had the same problem now. I tried updating my video card driver and this fixed the problem upon restart, but it has now started up again.
To restate what's above: maximized windows are maximizing behind (the bottom of the window will extend behind the taskbar) the smart taskbar on the secondary monitor on a windows xp, SP3 machine.

Appears that this is same issue from: Smart Taskbar secondary monitor maximised windows too big
I do have google sidebar installed and this appears to be the issue. When sidebar is minimized ultramon secondary taskbar starts working normally again. Sounds like an interesting interaction between google desktop and ultramon.
Thanks all.
