I frequently run programs using the runas /netonly command. This allows me to run a program with different network credentials (for example a domain user) and local credentials. If you check the process it is still running as the same local user as every other window. However, the move/max buttons don't show up on these runas windows.

Thanks. Love the app...

Which version of UltraMon and Windows are you using?

So far I haven't been able to reproduce this issue, I tested with UltraMon 3.0.5 on 64-bit Vista. I started Notepad as a regular user but with an admin account for remote access:

runas /netonly /user:<admin account> notepad.exe

Ultramon 3.0.5 on Vista 64. I tried it again using the exact command you mentioned and it doesn't work for me. I tried using another local account and a domain account. The buttons are missing for both. And running notepad.exe from the same command line works fine.

Is the command prompt running as administrator?

I've done some further testing and have been able to reproduce the issue if the command prompt is running as admin. I'll look into this for the next release, not sure though if the issue can be fixed.

Yes and no. I'm not explicitly running the prompt as administrator; however, my user is an admin. I'm running with UAC off. The same things happens when executed from a shortcut. I verified that (according to Process Explorer) the process is running as my same user. The same one I'm logged in as.

Hopefully you can solve it, but it's not a deal breaker. I only run a few apps this way. I'm running the trial version of Ultramon right and I'm very impressed by Ultramon. I'm even more impressed by your interact here on the forum. I'll definitely be buying.

I run my Visual Studio as Admin and I dont see the icons to toggle monitor and Maximize. This is pretty inconvenient for me. I was wodnering if a fix for this is in place?

Thank you

I'm going to look into this for the next release, I'm not aware of a workaround for this.

Hi,
I too am experiencing this problem. I thought about how to fix the issue and came up with only one possible idea.
have a second process, that is executed by UltraMon with saved credentials of the second user account.

In my instance i am always logged in as a domain user but need to use domain admin account for certain programs.

The usual settings would need to be added, like encrypting the saved password, and an option to prompt for the password every time the system is needed, or probably the easiest way is to use the windows stored credentials to access what is needed.

I really do hope this gets resolved because it is a dealbreaker for me. :(

You could run UltraMon as administrator, this way both regular and elevated apps would get the window buttons.
