Setup:
1. Dell Latitude D620 laptop with - Video card: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family - Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile - Windows XP* Professional, Service Pack 3 2. Dell UltaSharp 128- x 1024 external monitor 3. UltraMon 3.0.5 beta
I save two Display Profiles in UltraMon: - Setup_1: for laptop display only, and - Setup_2: for dual display with the external monitor as the primary and laptop as the secondary with extended desktop
Whenever I switch from Setup_2 to Setup_1 and back to Setup_2 via UltraMon I lose the laptop screen as the extended desktop – it ends up only with the external monitor. The only way to recover the extended desktop on laptop is to go to the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator panel and set it up manually.
So the question is why does UtraMon profile switching fails to recover Setup_2 properly?
Thanks!

Unfortunately UltraMon usually can't change the primary monitor on laptops, you would need to do this via the software for the video card.
The Intel driver has an additional issue, it doesn't prevent UltraMon from changing the primary monitor, but the change doesn't actually work.

I have the same problem with my ATI mobility Radeon HD 2300 card. Is there someway around this.

I'm not aware of a fix for this.
