Have 2 nvidia nvs 440 cards running 4 monitors each. recently switched from samsung 19 inch to samsung 20 inch wide... while installing the new monitors the 8th monitor refused to light up. Checked all the hardware, nothing wrong. I can change the cables and the blank monitor comes to life, but the other one that was fine will not. Have dell precision 690 D6GBVC1. Really stumped.

Are all 8 monitors shown as enabled if you go to UltraMon menu > Display Settings?

Yes, all 8 are recognized and show to be samsung with correct models etc.

If Windows Display Properties also shows all monitors as being enabled, my guess would be a hardware issue with the cable. To verify this check if the issue goes away if you use one of the monitor cables from the other video card.
