I am currently trialing this software on the recommendation of a friend now that the final is out for Windows 7.
I am running windows 7 x64 and whenever I reboot the computer, two copies of ultramon are running.
If I enter msconfig and disable only 1 of the two entries and reboot, then both entries get removed. If I make a shortcut in the startup folder myself, two copies still are loaded at boot.
If I remove any startup items and launch the program manually, only one copy runs.
I have searched the forum for anyone else having an issue like this but haven't seen anything.
Is anyone else having this issue and is there a fix for this?

Another user mentioned that this was caused by Ad-Aware, something to do with messing up the location of the all users and current user startup folders or something like that. I haven't tested this myself though.

Hrm... interesting theory. This is on a fresh build. The system was built less than a month ago and it was installed shortly after.
Malware Bytes Anti-Malware, HijackThis & spybot Search & Destroy have all revealed nothing infected.
If I can get this solved, I plan on buying the software as its absolutely wonderful and does far more than just a toolbar on the second monitor.

This thread has more information on this, but it's in German.
Basically you should take a look at the Startup value under the following registry keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
And the Common Startup value under the following keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Thanks for the information. I will give it a try and post back.

I took a look at those registry values. It seems that the unique user values are set to the same values as the "all user" values.
I presume that they should be different where the user keys should point to the user profile and the all user keys should point to the all users profile.
I will make this change and post back with the results.

Christian,
Thanks for pointing me in that direction. I have solved the problem and believe I know why the problem happened in the first place.
The problem was the the startup key at:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
This key was set to exactly the same value as found in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
where both had the same value pointing to the %allusersprofile% variable.
When changing the startup value under the users shell folder back to:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
The program loads accordingly at boot and there is only one entry in msconfig.
Now for the reason I believe this happened. When the computer was setup... instead of having two locations for all the shortuts to program in the start menu, we condensed "all users>start menu>programs" and "user>start menu>programs" under the same folder in the all users section (so everyone has access to all the software). This also effectively removed the "user" startup folder and combined it with th "all users" startup folder, and in turn changing the registry key. Once the registry key was set back properly and s startup folder created in the "user" start menu, everything was set back to normal. Thanks again!
