Forums -> Multiple monitors -> Going from docked to undocked will make my laptop screen black

I have been using Ultramon for years and very happy about it (and convinced several people to purchase it :-) ), so thank you Christian Studer!

I have been using it with Dell laptops, no problems there, but at my new position the systems we use are HP (in my case the HP EliteBook 8730w, running Vista 64 bit).

My dualmonitor setup works perfectly when the laptop is docked. I have two monitors hooked up to the docking station.

But when I undock (sleep, then remove) the laptop (to go to a meeting) and I reopen the laptop, every so often the (login) screen is black, as if it still thinks it is docked.

Are any one else experiencing this problem, and can it be solved by using Ultramon profiles?

Thanks in advance,
Christoffer

Display profiles won't help, they get applied after login.

Disabling TMM might be worth a try, see this thread for details.
