I have a setup where I occasionally watch videos on a secondary monitor. I use vlc with command line options to send the output to "Display 2" which is an LCD attached to my laptop.
Is it possible to disable the primary monitor while keeping the secondary monitor active? I've tried a variety of things but without much luck:
-- Setting the laptop power settings to do nothing when I shut the lid. This switches my external monitor to my primary display, ie: "single monitor" mode.
-- Running the DisableEnableMonitor script. If I run this and I set the monitor number to 1 all monitors including the secondary are disabled. (This is hard to recover from without rebooting or having it mapped to a keyboard shortcut!)
Ideally I still want my laptop monitor to be "Primary" I just want it to be off/disabled/in screen saver mode.
Is this possible?
Thanks, --jp

That's not possible, you would need to set the external monitor as primary, then disable the internal monitor.
If you just want to blank the internal monitor, you could do this with the UltraMon Screen Saver Player, running it in fullscreen mode on the internal monitor will blank the monitor (you don't even need to select a screen saver).
