at work i've got a geforce2 pro agp with an attached 22" crt and a geforce2 mx200 pci with an attached 17" lcd. at home i've got a geforce4 ti4200 agp (dual capable) with a 17" lcd on the dvi port and a 21" crt on the analog port. 2 separate setups, 1 common problem:

i want to use my lcd as the primary display for everything but full-screen gaming, because lcds are not responsive enough. i would like the 'typical' multi-monitor experience - no taskbar on the secondary display, etc - with the exception of full-screen opengl/direct3d apps. if i open a game, i want it to go on the secondary display.

is this possible?

well, i can see the software has an option to flip the primary and secondary displays. this would be sufficient, but why can't it be a systray double-click option or a hotkey?

I have uploaded a script that switches the primary monitor, see UltraMon Add-ons.

The next release of UltraMon will allow you to use hotkeys to launch scripts.

You can also launch the script using a hotkey by creating a shortcut to it, placing it on the Start menu and assigning a hotkey to the shortcut.

You could also use UltraMon shortcuts to launch games, use the display tab to switch the primary before running the game, then switch it again when you quit the game.

damn, that was fast! :O

i will purchase a copy when the next release is out, then

any possibility of refresh-fixing for 2k/xp a la http://nvrt.net/ ? all of the refresh fixers are really random with support for multiple monitors

Did you try nvreffix? If I remember correctly it does have multi-monitor support.

Currently I have no plans to add support for this to UltraMon, but if there's no other solution I'll consider it.

BTW, I just noticed that dxdiag.exe has a refresh rate override, maybe that will work as well. See the More Help tab, Override button.
