I have a toshiba Tecra 8200 laptop with the Cyberblade XP chipset. I'm having an issue enabling the secondary monitor. It's not enabling. I can disable it fine. I know it is possible because it will work in powestrip (of course Powerstrip doesn't have the other features I want)
Also is there anyway to control which monitor popup windows popup on?
BTW I'm using Windows XP and UltraMon 2.2.17.0

Did you try to enable the second monitor using the new Display Settings applet?
UltraMon doesn't support setting a default monitor for popups or dialogs.

It can be enabled on Microsoft's display settings but not Ultramon's also the right click menu option will disable but not enable. It flashes and then reverts back to disabled.

Also a popup/new window controller would be cool. I think nview has something like that.

Please run the program on your system, with the secondary monitor disabled, and send me the log file that was created to support@realtimesoft.com.
Also let me know if the monitor was actually enabled or not.

Here's the output:

It can be enabled with windows display properties. But this doesn't work.

The error message indicates that the display mode (640x480 8-bit color) isn't supported, this is strange though as it is stored as the last used mode before disabling the monitor.
For further troubleshooting, please enable the monitor using Windows Display Properties, then select About from the UltraMon menu and post the system information listed there.
I could then send you a modified test application which tries to enable the monitor using these settings.

Thanks for the information. I have uploaded another test program, TestEnableSec3.zip.
This one retrieves some settings but doesn't try to enable the second monitor. The second monitor needs to be disabled when running the test program.

This morning I tried Ultramon to enable the secondary monitor and it worked. I think it has something to do with the inital setting of the monitor. Laptop video cards can be set in a number of different modes. (Same image on both LCD and video, LCD only, video only) I think ultramon it will only enable the secondary monitor if it's set on LCD only. At least that's my theory now :)

I have a Gateway PC with a Trident Video Accelerator Cyberblade-xp v6.40022-003G.
I loaded a game for my grandson and it is not working properly.
It requires a 16MB 3D accelerator as min. but recommends a 64MB 3D accelerator.
Is there anything I can do?
Can I make it work or do I have to upgrade? Or do I have to have a new video card?
