When my computer boots up for some reason UltraMon is not starting up. The shortcut created in my startup folder is still there. I have tried the delay feature for up to 2 minutes, but still no luck. I am also using Style XP with the AMped theme. I read in someone elses post about having this problem with the themes. This visual style can be found at: http://ldiemosl.deviantart.com/
Also I have to tell my computer to shutdown twice, before it actually does. The first time it just closes Ultramon. In another post this was mentioned as being a conflict with MaxiVista, but I have never used it before. I would greatlt appriciate any help! Thanks

Please try if the shortcut in the Startup folder still works. If it doesn't, either repair UltraMon or delete the shortcut and create a new one manually.
To repair UltraMon, go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, select UltraMon, click on the support information link, then click on Repair.
If you want to create a new shortcut manually, create a new shortcut to UltraMon.exe (UltraMon.exe is located in your UltraMon folder, usually C:\Program Files\UltraMon), and copy it to the Startup folder.
If only some applications close when you shut down Windows, this means that at least one application refuses to shut down and thus the system won't shut down. I don't know if this is a conflict with MaxiVista, I haven't noticed any shut down-related issues while testing with MaxiVista.

Christian I know the shortcut does work. However I think I know what caused the shutdown problem. What else can I try to get Ultramon to startup correctly? Thanks!

If you start UltraMon manually after system startup it works fine?

Yes it opens fine manually from the shortcut in the start menu.

Unfortunately I have no idea why it wouldn't work in this case.
Shouldn't make any difference whether you click on the link in the Startup folder manually or Windows executes the shortcut during startup.
I would recommend reinstalling UltraMon, that should fix any problems with the startup shortcut. You'll need to uninstall UltraMon and reboot before installing it again.

Running WinXP with SP2 and have installed ULTRAMON 2.6 countless times including eradicating the registry of all mention of ULTRAMON and yet could still not get it to startup automatically.
Did some searching at the KB at "http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1" and this did it for me [Article ID : 314488].
What happens now is by using the Group Policy editor I force ULTRAMON to start up before any other services.
