This third patch includes the previous patches, and fixes the following additional issues:
- autohide taskbar not accessible when a window is maximized, and you are using Windows 98/Me/2000 or XP with the classic visual style
- taskbar not accessible when Reflection X is running
- WeatherBug uses 100% CPU when its main window is open
If you have downloaded UltraMon 2.6 on June 28 or later, you should already have the latest version and don't need the patch.
To check if the patch is needed, go to your UltraMon installation folder, usually C:\Program Files\UltraMon, right-click RTSUltraMonHook.dll and select Properties, then check which version you have installed.
If version 2.6.26.0 is installed, you already have the latest version and don't need the patch.
If version 2.6.25.0, 2.6.24.0 or 2.6.23.0 is installed, download the correct patch for your system:
For Windows 98/Me: UltraMon26_x32_w9x_patch3.zip For Windows 2000/XP/2003: UltraMon26_x32_wnt_patch3.zip For 64-bit Windows x64: UltraMon26_x64_patch3.zip
Installing the patch:
1) close UltraMon 2) extract the ZIP file to your UltraMon installation folder
If you get an error message when trying to replace a file, rename the existing file, then extract the new file from the ZIP. You'll be able to delete the renamed file after logging off or rebooting.

My About... still shows 2.6.23.0 after installing the patch.
|
Christian Studer 2005-10-12 09:33
This is fine, the product version on the About dialog is taken from UltraMon.exe, which wasn't patched.

Ok, instlled the patch and so far the problem is fixed. However, I downloaded UltraMon from this website in September, but it says it's version 2.6.23.0.
The forum thread you linked me to says that there is already a v2.6.26.0? Where can I download that version? I would like to have it (or whatever the latest version is) as I may have to reformat my hard drive soon and would like to install the latest version of all my programs instead of installing an old version then patching.
Thanks.

The main version number doesn't get updated, with the patch installed you have the latest version.

I understand that, but in your post above you make a mention of a v2.6.26.0
The one I have installed right now (v2.6.23.0) I downloaded in early September. Is there a download location for v2.6.26.0 (one that will show v2.6.26.0 when I check the "About" window)?

You say, "If version 2.6.26.0 is installed, you already have the latest version and don't need the patch.". So it sounds like there is a v2.6.26.0 available for download somewhere.

The main setup file has been updated as well, and includes the patched files.
The version on the About dialog will still be 2.6.23.0 though, this is because the version information is taken from UltraMon.exe, which wasn't updated.
The only file with version 2.6.26.0 is RTSUltraMonHook.dll.

So there isn't a download / installer available yet with the new files integrated into it?
|
Christian Studer 2005-10-20 09:04
There is, the current .msi setup packages include all the latest files.
You can't install this over your existing installation though, you would need to uninstall UltraMon, reboot, then install it again with the updated setup package.

Where do I get this current installer then? The one I downloaded from this site in September doesn't have those updated files.
|
Christian Studer 2005-10-20 23:18
You can get the latest version from the main download page.

Ok, that's the same one I downloaded back in early September. Either it doesn't have those patched files in it or the patch doesn't work in fixing that WIN+D problem.
|
Christian Studer 2005-10-21 09:14
This does have the latest files, to verify this take a look at the version number of RTSUltraMonHook.dll (in the UltraMon installation folder), the version should be 2.6.26.0.

Yeah it is 2.6.26.0. So I guess the patched files don't help at all with the WIN+D problem discussed in this thread:
