Installed Ultramon 3.0 beta on my Vista 32-bit system. Everything seemed to work fine.
Had to reboot due to a system security update, and upon reboot I was welcomed with a BSOD fingering win32k.sys.
I had to go back to a restore point prior to installing Ultramon to get the system to boot properly.
Thinking it may have been something else (perhaps even the MSFT security update) I re-installed Ultramon and rebooted...and had the same BSOD.
Did the same System Restore dance as before, and now my system is working properly and boots up fine (tested several times).

Sounds like a display driver issue triggered by something UltraMon does, I would recommend updating the video card drivers if possible.
UltraMon by itself shouldn't be able to crash the whole system.

I have the same problem. After installing the new 3.0 beta, I got a blue screen on win32k.sys after the first restart. But, tried one more time, it started normally without a problem. However, when I restarted the computer for maintance, it kept giving me blue screens. While this time no matter how many times I restarted, it never worked. Totally I tried 6 times and failed 6 times. So I planned to go to the safe mode and uninstall the program. But the ultramon uninstallation program couldn't run in the safe mode(This is really bad!). With the last hope, I tried to start the Vista normally. Luckily it worked again. So I immediately uninstalled the Ultramon 3.0 Beta. It seems ok right now. I restarted the computer for two more times, and it worked as usual. I am using Vista business 32bit version. I was using Ultramon 2.71 and upgraded to 3.0 beta. My video card is ATI 9800 with catalyst 7.3
Some comments: 1. I find the win32k.sys was indeed modified recently. It possibly caused by the critical update happened yesterday.
2. The installation program alway complains that some file is occupied by some other running programs and I have to kill every one of them to continue the installation. This is very annoying.

>>> The installation program alway complains that some file is occupied
You can also continue without shutting down the applications, but may then need to restart the system after setup has completed.

If you are using ati 7.3 video drives. They have a problem in there driver that will give a win32k.sys
you can go back to driver 7.2
Or go under Services and turn Disabled ati external event utility.
I have had this error and also disable the Ati external Event utility
That will stop the problems.
The info about turning off the ati external event utility come from ati own support web pages.

AMD ATI has issued a hotfix for 7.3, which should fix this problem.
