When running media player classic and playing a vfw/avi file(ffdshow filter), dragging the window's video area to cover an underlying ultramon enabled window (specifically the ultramon buttons on the title bar) results in a dramatically improved cpu usage of mplayerc. Turning off ultramon returns cpu usage to normal.
I can only guess that window messages are being sent by the video area and is wreaking havoc on the position algorithm used for the buttons. This could be a directshow or overlay problem. Fullscreen does not seem to be a problem.

I've been able to reproduce a similar issue when moving the Media Player Classic window around with a video playing (causes all open windows to get redrawn if UltraMon window buttons are enabled), but as soon as I stopped moving it, CPU usage returned to normal.
I'll look into this for the next release. Disabling the UltraMon window buttons for Media Player Classic reduced the problem for me, but didn't completely fix it. You can do this via UltraMon Options > Compatibility.
Testing was done on 32-bit XP SP2 with Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1 (that's the only version I found, haven't seen 9.4.1) and UltraMon 3.0.2.

Yah you're right it's 6.4.9.1 of course. Thanks for the snappy response. Knowing when the problem occurs at least helps me to avoid it.
Removing the buttons from media player classic didn't resolve it for me unfortunately. However removing the buttons from the window beneath the video area (using compatibility) does completely eliminate the issue.
