My system is a 3 monitor setup:

Sapphire Radeon 9700 NP + iiyama VMPro 454 @ 1280x1024 - Primary

Inno3d Tornado Geforce2 MX400 + 2x iiyama VMPro 413 @ 1024x768 - Secondaries

I'd like to run the secondary monitors @ 1152x864 so that the proportions of windows match up better.

However I'm finding that if I set the resolution on either or both of the displays on the MX400 to 1152x864 a line appears on the screen(s) running at that resolution.

It is a horizontal line about 1 pixel high running the full width of that screen approx 1 inch from the bottom of the screen (I suspect this is at the bottom of where the 1024x768 resolution would be).

The line arrears to be a duplicate of the top line of pixels in the primary display of the MX400 display adapter - ie. not the top line of pixels from the 9700 driven display.

This only appears when a screen is set to 1152x864, running either screen at 1024x768 or 1280x1024 (same or mixed res) is fine.

I'm wondering if the Geforce2 MX400 doesn't support a native 1152x864 resolution or hoping it's a driver fault where they have specified the resolution in terms of an expanded 1024x768 rather than coding the res from scratch (this is my programmers mind clutching at straws here as I know nothing about writing display drivers)..

Has anyone here had a similar fault?

Oh, I forgot to mention how I know it's a duplicate of the top line of pixels..

If I drag a window to the top of the MX400's primary screen the line shows interference which is the same colour as the part of the window that is at the top of the screen at that time. The same colours are displayed directly below the point where the window is.

Oh, and I'm running W2K Pro + SP3 with 43.45 detonator drivers.
