playing around with ultramon, i'm trying to get the smarttaskbar in my 2nd monitor (my TV in a HTPC actually) to autohide, while keeping my main taskbar unhidden.

Reading the forums, I see that ultramon "inherits" some of the main taskbar's properties (eg locked), but can it be controlled independently?

i keep my main taskbar a) unlocked b) no autohide, and c) always on top, b/c this works best for PC use, but a discreet taskbar is better for entertainment purposes as full-screen is desirable.

This is no longer supported in the current UltraMon 3 beta, but might get added again in a later release.

If you're only going to run fullscreen applications on the monitor you shouldn't need autohide though, the UltraMon taskbar will hide itself when it detects a fullscreen application and will stay hidden even if the fullscreen application isn't the active application.

I was wondering the same thing - but not because of the full screen thingy, but because my fourth display is a plasma and I don't want a taskbar on it because of the potential for burn in.

Disabling the taskbar for a specific monitor is supported, but currently needs to be configured via the registry. See this thread for details.
